Welcome to New Beginnings Trust

New Beginnings Trust was founded by Pastor Barry Gamble,

Pastor Mike Ihmig and Marion van den Berg in October 2011.

The Trust is registered with (SARS) South African Revenue Service,

and has been granted the status of a Public Benefit Organisation.

Based on this, SARS has granted the Trust full tax exemption status,

and as such we are able to issue our Donors with a SARS section 18(a) tax
exemption donation certificate to the value of any donation we receive.

All the work we undertake is conducted on a volunteer basis.

We do not employ any staff, rent any premises, or purchase/rent any vehicles.

Each Trustee works from their own home-based offices,

and covers the running costs of those offices in their own personal capacity.

Likewise, with regards to the collection of donated goods; their distribution within the
informal settlements, the Trustee’s make use of their own personal vehicles,

and the fuel costs are paid from the Trust funds.

This ensures that all the donations we receive, whether cash, goods donated, or services
rendered are utilized only for benefit of the children in need.

It’s a sad fact that in today’s world there are too many “organizations” receiving donations
but spend most of it covering their “costs”

WHAT IS OUR VISION ?

Our primary mandate is to provide for the nutritional needs and the pre-school educational
requirements of the disadvantaged children within our informal impoverished communities.

We Work in collaboration with local businesses and with the help of volunteers

to procure and distribute food supplies from various sources

as well as purchasing food supplies for distribution with the funds donated to the trust.

We also support and assist the elderly grandparents of these children who have

had to step into the role of being their primary caregivers due to the death

or abandonment of their parents.

Be still and know that I am God

SAFETY OF ABANDONED AND ABUSED CHILDREN

Working in conjunction with Dept of Social services, one of our projects

is the establishment of small “Family Homes” within the informal settlements

where abused/abandoned children can be placed & raised in a family

orientated environment.

As opposed to placing them in the overcrowded orphanage institutions,

which are highly ineffective when it comes to addressing the

emotional/mental stability & development of an abused child.

Not only do these safety homes help to heal & undo the psychological damage previously inflicted on these children, it also breaks the cycle of children from broken/abusive homes growing up to create more broken/abusive homes.

We currently have 5 of these Family Homes in our network,

two of which now have a"Baby Safe" installed on the premises,

where young unmarried women can anonymously have access

to a secure safe place where they can place their unwanted newborn babies.

As opposed to them abandoning in the streets and dustbins to die.

We provide ongoing support for these family safety homes by

obtaining donations of food supplies for them, along with medical supplies,

educational supplies and clothing for the children.
